Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a structural engineer to apply knowledge in materials behavior, structural analysis, and reinforced concrete design for power transmission upgrades. You will generate calculations, create design documents, and work with clients to review and refine solutions.

The role includes collaboration with a design team, exposure to advanced design tools, and potential relocation support depending on location. Hybrid work is available with office and client-site engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Two+ years of experience in structural engineering for electrical substations preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical information to clients with clarity.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and attend scoping meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, concrete members, equipment, and foundations.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure timely design delivery.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Review work performed by others for accuracy and compliance.
