Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a role for a structural engineer to contribute to power transmission modifications and upgrades. You will apply knowledge in materials, structural analysis, and reinforced concrete design to develop designs, perform calculations, and create specifications.

The position includes client interaction, design reviews, and travel to sites. The role supports three days in the office with two remote days in a hybrid setup and may include relocation assistance depending on

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Structural/Civil/Architectural Engineering.
• Ability to communicate technical details to clients.
• Willingness to travel to client sites for scoping meetings.
• Experience writing and supporting structural calculations.
• Ability to deliver within budget and schedule with accuracy.
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318 codes.
• Proficiency with structural design software: MathCad, STAAD PRO, RISA 3D/RISA Floor.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of structural engineering issues.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations.
• Interface with the client and communicate technical information.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Review work completed by others, including calculations and drawings.
• Grow professionally through Communities of Practice at Sargent & Lundy.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
