Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a structural engineer to apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and steel/concrete design. You will design, analyze, and document complex power transmission structures and foundations, interfacing with clients and preparing material specifications.

The role includes site visits, collaboration with an engineering team, and a strong emphasis on code compliance and quality. Hybrid work arrangement with relocation support may apply.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in structural/civil engineering with strong materials/design background.
• Ability to communicate with clients with appropriate technical detail.
• Willingness to visit client sites and attend scoping meetings.
• Experience writing and supporting structural calculations.
• Ability to meet budgets and schedules with accuracy.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and design against codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel and concrete members, foundations, and platforms.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations.
• Interface with clients and communicate technical information.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Review others’ work, including calculations and drawings.
• Contribute to engineering knowledge via Communities of Practice.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
