Job summary
Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks a Structural Engineer to apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design on power transmission upgrades. You will work with an engineering team to create calculations, drawings, and specifications and to interface with clients to communicate technical information.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement (three days in the office, two remotely).
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master in Structural/Civil Engineering with strong materials knowledge and design background
- Ability to communicate with clients with appropriate technical detail
- Willingness to visit client sites and perform walk-downs as needed
- Experience writing and providing support documentation for structural calculations
- Proficiency with design codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI 318
Responsibilities
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve structural engineering issues
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, concrete members, platforms, and foundations
- Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations
- Interface with clients to communicate technical information
- Prepare specifications for structural materials
- Review others' work, including calculations and drawings
- Engage in Communities of Practice and design reviews at client locations
