Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mid-level structural engineer to contribute to nuclear facility projects, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and guide junior staff. The role focuses on materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and design recalibration across new and upgraded plants.

The position supports hybrid work with in-office requirement 3 days a week or full remote, and involves potential travel for reviews and field verification.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering program required.
• 3+ years in design/analysis of structures (AISC steel and ACI concrete).
• Experience with structure software: STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with codes: ASCE 7, AISC, ACI.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and design of steel and concrete.
• Prepare/review design calculations, develop specifications, and support designers.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using modern software.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for reviews and field verification (as needed).
