Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Englewood, CO seeks a structural engineer to apply materials knowledge, conduct structural analysis, and design steel frames and reinforced concrete elements for power transmission upgrades. You\'ll develop calculations, drawings, and specifications as part of a design team in a client-facing role.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, and relocation assistance may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Requires BSCE or MSCE from ABET-accredited program with strong materials and structural design background.
• Two+ years as a practicing structural engineer on substation design/upgrade projects.
• Able to communicate technical details clearly with clients and attend site scoping meetings.
• Experience writing support documentation for structural calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations for planned work.
• Interface with the client and communicate technical information effectively.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Review others' work for calculations and drawing accuracy.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely design.
• Review existing facilities to propose upgrades and provide findings to clients.
