Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to contribute to a wide range of power transmission modifications. You will perform structural analysis, design steel and concrete elements, and develop supporting calculations while interfacing with clients and preparing material specifications.

The role supports a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office, 2 remote) and offers relocation assistance based on location. ABET-approved programs are valued, with possible EIT certification.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with strong materials/structural design background.
• Effective client communication with appropriate technical detail.
• Occasional walk-downs and site visits for scoping meetings.
• Experience writing documentation for structural calculations.
• Ability to complete assignments within budget and schedule.
• Knowledge of practical structural engineering applications and design integrity.
• Experience with technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and solve a wide range of structural engineering issues.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel and concrete members.
• Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations.
• Interface with clients and communicate technical information.
• Prepare specifications for structural materials.
• Review work by others, including calculations and drawings.
• Engage in Communities of Practice and knowledge sharing.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
