Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Business Development Engineer to support USSOCOM. The role bridges RF capabilities with customer requirements, supporting field trials, demonstrations, and network architectures.

Reporting to Applications Engineering, you will analyze capability gaps, coordinate with BD, and present tailored demonstrations for SOF and component commands while traveling up to 50% to customer sites and labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Citizen due to clients under U.Practical experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++) for test automation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.

Responsibilities

• Support USSOCOM acquisition stakeholders and Component Commands.
• Assist in demonstrating the technical capabilities, interoperability, low-signature performance, and field-readiness of our StreamCaster MANET radio portfolio across multi-domain, tactical edge, and uncrewed environments.
• Assist in analyzing capability gaps and map operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Perform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners and test end-to-end network architectures.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage testing data and verify solution architectures.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to support their ongoing technical needs.
