Job summary

Five Below is seeking a Retail Manager on Duty capable of leading store operations and delivering WOW customer service at a high-volume location in Columbus, OH. The role supports onboarding and training of associates, oversees stock, merchandising, and daily tasks while maintaining a welcoming, fast, and friendly checkout experience.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, cash handling, and ensuring policies are followed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide WOW customer service through personal contact with customers.
• Train the crew on the BEST customer service experience; ensuring each guest has a fast, friendly checkout.
• Oversee daily activities of store associates; ensure duties are performed effectively with excellent service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for quick floor placement.
• Act as Manager on Duty; take responsibility for store operations, staff, customer service, and urgent issues.
• Open/close the store; secure cash, lock doors, set alarms, and ensure smooth daily operation.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on policies, product knowledge, and procedures.
• Drive store sales and control expenses through merchandising, staff performance, and service quality.
• Partner with store leadership on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance (cleaning, stock room, etc.).
