Job summary

Rula Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Partnerships Referrals & Conversions engineering team. You will design and evolve scalable referral systems, partner data management, and patient booking experiences, working with PMs, designers, and peers to deliver high-impact features.

You will mentor engineers, lead cross-team initiatives, and champion reliable, scalable software practices. Experience with AI-assisted development tools and a product-focused mindset are essential

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related professional experience.
• Deep understanding of modern application design architecture, good API design patterns, security, performance, and scaling.
• Experience designing and evolving system architectures with the ability to weigh tradeoffs and choose a suitable approach for the problem at hand.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects across teams, shaping scope, estimates, and execution while aligning technical decisions with business goals.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with partners and stakeholders.
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, etc.) and able to articulate both where they accelerate delivery and where they introduce risk or require human judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable referral systems for partners and patient experiences.
• Lead cross-team engineering efforts with PMs, designers, and other engineers.
• Mentor engineers, unblock peers, and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity and value.
