Job summary

Rula, a remote-first mental health technology company in the United States, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Patient Onboarding team. You will be a hands-on technical leader, writing code while guiding complex initiatives across product areas and shaping the foundations your team builds on.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Analytics, mentor engineers, and drive modern AI-enabled development practices to improve our patient experience from first interaction

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience at staff level.
• Strong full-stack experience with modern frontend frameworks, backend APIs, data modeling, and distributed systems.
• Experience leading technically complex projects from problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and production support.
• Experience working on high‑impact user journeys such as onboarding, checkout, registration, eligibility, payments, marketplaces, or other conversion‑critical workflows.
• Demonstrated experience influencing technical direction across functions or teams.
• Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted software development tools (such as Claude Code) as part of regular engineering workflows.

Responsibilities
