Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced underwriting professional to evaluate new and renewal business and manage risk with sophisticated models. You will support pricing decisions, regulatory compliance, and client communications while working with actuaries, agents, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or related field.
• Minimum 13 years of underwriting or related experience; professional designations preferred (AU, CPCU, CIC, INS, ARM).

Responsibilities

• Leads the evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Develops and implements advanced risk assessment models to inform coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Fosters strategic partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients for information and guidance.
• Procures and analyzes motor vehicle, loss history, and external inspection reports to support underwriting decisions.
• Ensures proper documentation and compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.
• Evaluates complex policy renewals and modifications for enhancements and risk mitigation.
• Communicates underwriting strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Monitors industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
