Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced underwriter to evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business, using advanced risk models to guide coverage, pricing, and terms. The role involves working with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain needed information and ensure compliance with regulations.

You will communicate underwriting strategies to internal teams and external partners, monitor industry trends, and occasionally travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, risk management, insurance, or related field.
• Minimum 13 years of underwriting or related experience.
• Professional designations preferred (AU, CPCU, CIC, ARM, or marketing designation).

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business per guidelines.
• Develop risk models to guide coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Coordinate with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients for information.
• Analyze reports to support underwriting decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Travel occasionally as required.
