Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking a seasoned underwriting professional to lead evaluation of new and renewal business, develop risk models, and guide decisions with actuaries, agents, and clients. This role emphasizes strong stakeholder relationships and awareness of regulatory changes.

The position requires extensive underwriting experience, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to work remotely from multiple states while driving performance and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Generally, a minimum of 13 years of experience in Underwriting or a related field. Professional designations (AU/CPCU/CIC/INS/ARM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business, aligning with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Develops and implements advanced risk assessment models for coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Fosters partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information and guidance.
• Procures and analyzes motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, and external inspections to support decisions.
• Ensures documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with regulations.
• Evaluates complex policy renewals and modifications for enhancements and risk mitigation.
• Communicates underwriting strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Monitors industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
• Maintains relationships with customers and coworkers to generate new business and retain profitable portions.
• May be responsible for staff coaching and participate in talent decisions.
