SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is hiring an experienced Underwriter to lead evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business, assess risk, and guide pricing and terms. The role requires strong communication with agents, brokers, and clients and collaboration across teams.

The position supports remote work across multiple states, with opportunities to influence underwriting practices and stay ahead of regulatory changes while developing professional staff and risk-management capabilities.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Generally, a minimum of 13 years of experience in Underwriting or a related field. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM, or a marketing designation.
• Performs work under minimal supervision. Works at the highest authority limits on the most complex assignments. Maintains expert knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations. Demonstrates expert analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.

• Leads the evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Develops and implements advanced risk assessment models to inform coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Fosters partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information and provide guidance.
• Procures and analyzes reports and screenings to support underwriting decisions.
• Ensures proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
• Evaluates complex policy renewals and modifications for enhancements and risk mitigation.
• Communicates underwriting strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Monitors industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
• Maintains relationships with customers/coworkers to generate new business and retain profitable business.
• Assists with staff coaching and talent decisions; may participate in performance management.
