Stride, Inc. is seeking a payroll specialist to independently process biweekly multi-state payroll using Workday and OSV. The role emphasizes accurate tax withholdings, SOX-compliant record-keeping, and timely resolution of payroll inquiries via a ticketing system.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll with Workday experience and can manage complex deductions, plus knowledge of state tax rules. This is a remote position with potential overtime during key payroll days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certificate preferred.
• 5+ years payroll experience including Workday payroll experience.
• 3+ years Workday payroll experience or equivalent.
• Ability to clear background check.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for end-to-end preparation and processing of biweekly multi-state payroll using Workday and OSV.
• Reconcile payroll from period to period.
• Calculate prorated wages and deductions for new hires, terminations, or status changes.
• Ensure accurate tax withholdings, including reciprocity rules.
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with SOX.
• Troubleshoot payroll issues including tax adjustments for prior periods with minimal direction.
• Address employee inquiries via ticketing system within SLA (24–48 hours).
• Stay current on payroll laws and benefits legislation.
• Handle tax notices in collaboration with OSV and state registrations.
• Assist with year-end and W-2 tasks as needed.
