Stride, Inc. is seeking a payroll specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt staff across states using Workday and OSV. You will reconcile periods, apply accurate deductions, and ensure compliance with tax rules and SOX requirements.

The role emphasizes resolving payroll issues, answering employee questions via a ticketing system with quick SLA adherence, and staying current on laws. This is a remote-capable position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5 years of payroll experience including multi-state payroll.
• 3 years of Workday payroll experience or equivalent.
• Ability to clear required background check.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of exempt/non-exempt biweekly payroll using Workday and OSV.
• Reconcile payroll from period to period.
• Calculate prorated wages and deductions for hires/terminations.
• Ensure tax withholdings are accurate and reciprocity rules understood.
• Maintain payroll records in SOX-compliant manner.
• Resolve payroll issues including tax adjustments with minimal supervision.
• Respond to employee inquiries via ticketing system within SLA (24–48h).
• Stay current on payroll legislation and benefits rules.
• Manage tax notices in collaboration with OSV.
