Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to independently manage the end-to-end processing of biweekly payroll using Workday for multiple states. You will reconcile periods, calculate prorations, and ensure accurate tax withholdings while maintaining SOX-compliant payroll records.

The role requires 5+ years of payroll experience, including Workday, and strong Excel skills. This is a virtual role open to residents across the 50 states, with overtime on payroll days and other key occasions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience including Workday payroll.
• Experience with payroll processing and multi-state tax rules.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end preparation and processing of exempt/non-exempt biweekly payroll.
• Reconcile payroll from period to period.
• Calculate prorated wages and deductions for new hires/terminations/status changes.
• Ensure tax withholdings are accurate including reciprocity rules.
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with SOX.
• Address employee tax and W-2 inquiries via ticketing system within SLA.
