Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop engineer to lead architecture and development of native Windows apps using the Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will ensure high performance, accessibility, and cross-version compatibility across Windows 10/11+. You will mentor engineers and shape the long-term Windows roadmap.

You will collaborate with designers, QA, and product teams to deliver robust, user-friendly desktop experiences, while owning features end-to-end from conception to release.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK, WinUI and C#; familiarity with C++ is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture, including interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop apps with reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive software.
• Solid fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, async programming.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, and driving architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts and validate UI and accessibility support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and others on feature roadmaps.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex bugs, performance issues, and compatibility problems.
