Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop architect/developer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML. You will drive accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility while collaborating with product designers, QA, and cross-functional teams.

Take ownership of features end-to-end—from conception to release—mentoring engineers and shaping the long-term Windows platform roadmap.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK and WinUI, with C#, XAML; experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture, including interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping Production-quality desktop apps with emphasis on reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and building inclusive software.
• Solid fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading/async programming.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure UI controls support screen readers, keyboard navigation, and accessibility APIs.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for Windows platform.
• Take ownership of features end-to-end from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and compatibility issues.
