Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Windows desktop engineer to design, architect, and deliver native applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI with C# and XAML. You will ensure accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility while collaborating with design, QA, and product teams.

You will own features from conception to release, mentor others, and help shape the long-term Windows roadmap for mission-critical software used by millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK/WinUI with C# and XAML
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between .NET and native code
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and inclusive software development
• Solid fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, data structures, and multi-threading/asynchronous programming
• Experience leading design discussions, mentoring engineers, and code reviews
• Strong communication skills and a user-centric mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and optionally C++
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase
• Drive accessibility efforts, ensure keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and UI accessibility
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders on feature planning and roadmap
• Own features end-to-end from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, or rendering issues
