Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop developer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will collaborate with design, QA, and product teams to drive a reliable, accessible Windows experience across versions.

You will own features end-to-end, mentor engineers, and shape the technical roadmap for Speechify’s Windows platform, contributing to performance, scalability, and accessibility goals for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML; additional native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture, including interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record of shipping production-quality desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and inclusive software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management, multi-threading/async programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and related UI frameworks.
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts ensuring UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with designers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for Windows platform.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance, ensuring quality across releases.
• Diagnose and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility issues.
