Job summary

Speechify in the United States is seeking a senior Windows desktop engineer to design and build native Windows applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and occasional C++. You will drive architecture, enforce best practices, and collaborate with product and QA to shape the Windows roadmap.

You will own features end-to-end, ensuring reliability, performance, and accessibility, while mentoring engineers and contributing to long-term goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK and C#.
• Deep understanding of interop between managed (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-grade desktop applications.
• Strong accessibility experience using Windows APIs.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, patterns, data structures, threading.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of native Windows desktop apps with WinUI/C#.
• Enforce best practices for architecture, performance, and maintainability.
• Drive accessibility: UI Automation, keyboard navigation, screen readers.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders on feature planning.
• Own feature lifecycle from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and fix complex bugs and performance issues and propose robust solutions.
