Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Windows Desktop Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will collaborate with designers, QA, and product teams to shape feature plans and deliver high-quality, accessible software across Windows 10/11+.

The role requires ownership of features end-to-end, with emphasis on performance, reliability, and usability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI and C#/XAML
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between .NET and native code
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive software design

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and optional C++
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, and cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+)
• Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues
