Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop engineer to design, architect, and deliver high-quality Windows applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will collaborate with product designers and QA to plan features, ensure accessibility, and drive long-term architecture across releases.

You will own features end-to-end, mentor engineers, and contribute to performance and reliability improvements, while maintaining a user-centric approach to deliver accessible experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance
• Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs and creating accessible software
• Excellent fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, and conducting code reviews
• Strong communication, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and user-centric mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and related frameworks
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure screen-reader support and keyboard navigation
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders on UI/UX and long-term roadmap
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and memory issues
