Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to customers, field technicians, and internal teams. You will troubleshoot low-voltage drives, assist with programming and system integration, and collaborate across engineering and product groups.

This role supports hybrid work in New Berlin, WI and remote work across the United States, requiring strong communication and warranty coordination to ensure rapid issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 4+ years of electrical/technical experience, or an associate's degree with 6+ years, or high school with 8+ years.
• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives is REQUIRED.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and drives using standard principles.
• Strong verbal and written English communication; must be computer-literate.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for Low Voltage VFDs and related systems.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Coordinate with the warranty team to initiate replacements and labor authorizations.
• Maintain detailed case documentation in Salesforce and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
