Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to deliver technical assistance to customers, field techs, and internal teams. You will help with low voltage VFD applications, drive programming, and wiring integration while collaborating closely with engineering and product groups.

The role reports to the Technical Support Team Lead and offers a hybrid work model in New Berlin, WI with remote options across the United States. Strong troubleshooting and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of electrical/technical experience, or an associate's with 6 years, or high school with 8 years.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for VFD-related problems, including commissioning and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and control-system integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve issues.
• Coordinate warranty replacements and labor authorizations with the warranty team.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases using Salesforce Case Management and related tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
