Job summary

ASM Research is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer to design, implement, and sustain enterprise voice, video, and collaboration services across on‑premise and cloud environments. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot complex incidents, and develop standards for UC platforms to ensure high availability and security in a federal setting.

Requires 8+ years in UC/telecommunications, hands-on experience with Cisco, Microsoft Teams Phone, and Avaya, and eligibility for SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 8+ years in telecommunications engineering, unified communications, or voice network engineering.
• Hands-on experience with UC/telephony platforms (Cisco, Teams Phone, Avaya).
• Experience in secure federal or regulated environments and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise UC/telephony solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Monitor UC networks, analyze KPIs, identify bottlenecks and service degradation.
• Troubleshoot, perform root‑cause analysis, and remediate UC/telecom incidents and escalations.
• Develop standards, runbooks, and configuration baselines for UC platforms and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with network, security, and service desk teams to plan changes and migrations with minimal user impact.
• Produce technical reports, capacity analyses, and recommendations for improvements.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer on UC capabilities to customers and internal teams.
• Support compliance with federal security and privacy requirements by implementing controls.
