Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal within our Power Delivery Practice to join HDR’s AD leadership team. The role emphasizes technical bid development, estimating and transitioning pursuits from pursuit to execution, coordinating with partners and HDR leads on risk and value engineering.

The candidate should have a broad understanding of transmission EPC risks across utility, renewable, data center and storage markets, with leadership overseeing remote teams and FEED development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License.
• 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Experience developing EPC design and construction packages.
• Experience working with environmental, real estate and GIS teams.
• Position allows up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution.
• Lead technical risk analysis, routing, design and BOM takeoff support.
• Develop scope, schedule and budget for AD projects; coordinate with land, environmental, GIS teams.
• Estimate technical investments and share risk with leadership teams.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project phases.
• Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, risk assessments, SOQs, proposals and interviews.
• Help build FEED teams and develop templates, standards, and templates for EPC pursuits.
