Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal within our Power Delivery Practice to lead pursuits and manage EPC projects from opportunity through execution. You will coordinate with HDR’s global staff and partners to develop estimates, manage risk and ensure successful handoffs to project delivery.

The role emphasizes front-end engineering, design leadership and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines, with travel up to 20% and a commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in transmission design.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Experience leading EPC projects.
• Up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to execution.
• Facilitate risk analysis, routing design and bill-of-material takeoff support with partners.
• Lead scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects with cross-functional coordination.
• Estimate technical investments and perform risk evaluations with leaders.
• Interface with contractors and subconsultants to discuss risk and mitigation.
• Participate in Go/No-Go discussions, SOQs, proposals and negotiations as needed.
• Help build FEED teams and templates for pursuit and project delivery.
