Job summary

HDR is seeking a national Transmission EPC Principal within our Power Delivery Practice to lead pursuit and FEED activities for high‑voltage transmission projects across the United States. You will drive technical bid development, risk analysis, and coordination with partners and HDR staff to transition pursuits to execution.

The role requires strong leadership, EPC design experience, and ability to guide multi‑discipline teams in a fast‑paced environment, with up to 20% travel and a commitment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Pro/Professional Engineering license and PMP preferred.
• 10 years of experience in transmission design; 5+ years leading EPC engineering teams.
• Experience with EPC design and construction packages including estimating and scope development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pursuit Champion / Manager on Transmission EPC projects and transition to project management on award.
• Facilitate risk analysis, routing, design and BOM takeoff; offer VE and constructability solutions.
• Lead HDR scope, schedule and budget development for AD projects; coordinate with land survey, geotech, GIS and other teams.
• Estimate technical investments pre Go/No-Go; share risk evaluations with leadership for go decisions.
• Interface with construction contractors and subconsultants during pursuit and project execution to address risk.
• Participate in Go/No-Go discussions, risk assessments, SOQs, proposals and interviews as needed.
• Help build FEED teams and templates as the AD program grows.
• Provide EPC best practice guidance to pursuit and project delivery teams.
