Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer III to support high-voltage substation design and relay protection projects. The role involves creating diagrams, relay settings, and control philosophies while ensuring QA/QC compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and vendors to drive project success from concept through construction, with flexible remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 4–7 years of Substation Protection & Control design engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent document management and organization skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems per codes and client standards.
• Create one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, logic diagrams, layouts, interconnection diagrams, and SCADA interfaces.
• Develop relay protection schemes and control philosophies with engineering calculations.
• Prepare equipment and material specifications and support procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Lead client meetings and site visits to gather or present design data and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
