Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Substation Protection & Control Engineer to drive the design of high-voltage substations and mentor a team of engineers. You will develop relay protection schemes, diagrams, and specifications while coordinating with clients and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup with flexibility for remote work within the United States and opportunities to advance within a rapidly growing power solutions firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 10+ years in substation protection & control design engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent document management and organization skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems per applicable codes and client standards.
• Develop protective relaying and control system designs for transmission and distribution substations.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Lead client meetings, coordinate with teams/vendors, and ensure QA/QC compliance.
