Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a team delivering substation engineering design projects for electric utility clients across the Northern and Midwestern US. You will manage portfolio performance, cost, schedule, and scope while driving strategic initiatives and mentoring staff.

The role requires strong leadership, communication and utility-industry experience, with remote/hybrid work options and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field.
• Seven (7) years of relevant Project Management experience in the electric power industry or related field with BS Degree, or six (6) years with a Master's degree.
• Previous experience working with electric utilities is required.
• Must demonstrate understanding of the electric power industry and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with project financials, bid proposals and cost estimates; portfolio management; contract management and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering design projects for electric utility clients.
• Own overall portfolio performance including cost, schedule, and scope management.
• Drive strategic initiatives focusing on process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Mentor and develop project management staff; foster collaboration and continuous learning.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio.
• Oversee bid documents, cost estimates, and responses to RFPs; manage monthly invoicing and AR processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support growth.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality control standards.
