Job summary

Leidos Engineering seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager for the Power Delivery Solutions division. You will manage a portfolio of substation projects for electric utilities across the Northern and Midwestern US, leading PMs and coordinating with clients and internal teams.

You will drive strategic initiatives, mentor staff, and oversee proposals and cost estimates while ensuring timely delivery and quality. This role offers hybrid/remote options with Chicago-area localization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience in electric power industry or related field with BS degree, or 6+ years with Master’s degree.
• Previous experience working with electric utilities.
• Strong understanding of electric power industry and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with project financials, bid proposals and cost estimates.
• Experience with portfolio management, contract management and risk mitigation.
• Leadership skills with focus on portfolio management and team development.
• Proficiency in project management software (Workfront, MS Project, P6) and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel periodically with valid US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering projects for electric utility clients.
• Own portfolio performance: cost, schedule, and scope management.
• Drive strategic initiatives for process improvements and efficiencies.
• Mentor PM staff and foster collaboration and continuous learning.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks.
• Oversee bid documents, cost estimates, and responses to RFPs.
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities for growth.
• Ensure contract requirements and quality control standards are met.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and support personnel.
• Travel to client sites as needed (likely <25%).
