Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of substation engineering projects for electric utility clients in the Northern and Midwestern US. The role supports hybrid/remote work with preference for candidates in the greater Chicago area.

You will mentor PMs, drive strategic initiatives, and oversee bids, cost estimates, and client invoicing while ensuring project delivery aligns with Leidos' mission and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in electric power utilities or similar; PMP is a plus.
• Strong portfolio and project financials experience with bids and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering projects for electric utilities.
• Own portfolio performance: cost, schedule, and scope management.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across projects.
• Mentor PM staff and foster collaboration and learning.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to report progress and mitigate risks.
• Oversee bid documents, cost estimates, and RFP responses.
• Manage monthly invoicing, accruals, and AR processes; pursue BD opportunities.
• Ensure contract compliance and quality control; maintain stakeholder communication.
• Travel to client sites as needed (less than 25%).
