Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead substation engineering projects for electric utilities across the Northern and Midwestern US. You will manage portfolio performance, client relations, and drive strategic initiatives while mentoring other PMs.

The role supports hybrid/remote work with preference for candidates near the Chicago area, offering professional development and leadership opportunities, including PMP certification and formal mentoring programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience in electric power or related field (BS) or 6+ years with Master’s degree.
• Experience with electric utilities and power infrastructure projects.
• Strong portfolio, contract management and risk mitigation skills.
• Proficiency with PM software and MS Office suite; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering design projects for electric utilities.
• Own portfolio performance: cost, schedule, scope, risk and reporting.
• Drive strategic initiatives, process improvements and efficiencies.
• Mentor PM staff and foster collaboration and learning.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and manage bid documents and cost estimates.
