Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Power Delivery Solutions to oversee a portfolio of substation projects and drive performance for electric utility clients across the Northern/M Midwestern US. This role offers hybrid/remote work with a preference for candidates near the Chicago area.

You will mentor PMs, lead larger proposals, manage client relations, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while supporting growth initiatives and strategic improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field.
• Seven (7) years PM experience in electric power or six (6) years with a Master’s degree with BS.
• Experience with electric utilities is required.
• Strong understanding of electric power infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering design projects for electric utilities.
• Own portfolio performance including cost, schedule and scope management.
• Drive strategic initiatives for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Mentor and develop project management staff and foster collaboration.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to report progress and mitigate risks.
• Oversee bid documents, cost estimates and RFP responses.
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals and accounts receivable processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities for growth.
• Ensure contract compliance and quality control.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, project teams and subcontractors.
• Travel to client sites as needed (<25%).
