Job summary

Leidos Engineering in the Power Delivery Solutions division seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of substation design projects for electric utilities across the Northern and Midwestern U.S. You will mentor PMs, manage client relations, and drive strategic initiatives while delivering on time and within budget.

Remote and hybrid work are available; candidates should be located in or near the Chicago area to best serve clients. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering/Construction Management/Business/Finance).
• 7+ years of PM experience in electric power or 6+ years with Master’s degree.
• Experience with electric utilities required.
• Understanding of electric power industry and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with portfolio management, contract management and risk mitigation.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (Workfront, MS Project, P6) and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel occasionally with a US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering design projects.
• Own portfolio performance including cost, schedule, and scope.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Mentor and develop PM staff for collaboration and learning.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to address issues and report progress.
• Oversee bid documents, cost estimates, and responses to RFPs.
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and AR processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
• Ensure contract compliance and quality control.
