Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to engage with customers in the Public Sector Pre-Sales team. You will become the technical expert, building relationships and delivering innovative Akamai solutions that address government and regulated industry needs.

Responsibilities include managing the pre-sales process, crafting technical proposals, and leading demos/POCs to close opportunities. 8+ years of experience and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in related field and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• US citizenship due to client base.
• Experience in customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales, or post-sales role.
• Background in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions.
• Demonstrate understanding of internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL).
• Be a customer advocate focused on delivering technical solutions.
• Experience presenting technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Create sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Manage the technical proposal process and ensure all information addresses customer requirements.
• Track account activity for business analysis and design technical solutions meeting customer needs.
• Lead sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
