Job summary
Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Server Tech Services Engineer to resolve high-severity hardware and network issues across Akamai's global infrastructure.
You will lead complex escalations, mentor junior engineers, and drive operational excellence in support of the world’s largest distributed platform. You will coordinate with cSTS, Network Infrastructure, and SRE teams to diagnose issues, oversee maintenance, and ensure optimal performance of Akamai's Edge Platform and security
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in server hardware and networking.
- Bachelor's degree in technology or related field or equivalent.
- Experience with fault diagnosis on drives, RAM, motherboards, and RAID.
- Knowledge of the OSI model and Unix/Linux CLI.
Responsibilities
- Report to cSTS team lead during critical maintenance projects.
- Collaborate with Network Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to assess issues and initiate swift workflows.
- Diagnose high-level hardware and network issues across Akamai's global infrastructure.
- Facilitate server repairs by working with ISP and Field Engineers.
- Coordinate the return of Akamai equipment back to the warehouse or vendors.
- Monitor hardware failure patterns and proactively report trends to Hardware Engineering and vendors.
