Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Server Tech Services Engineer to lead complex technical escalations and resolve high-severity hardware and network issues across Akamai's global Edge Platform. You will mentor junior engineers, partner with cSTS and Site Reliability Engineering teams, and drive operational excellence to ensure optimal performance of Akamai's Content Delivery Network and security products.

This role demands deep technical expertise and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience in hardware and networking.
• Bachelor's degree in technology or related field.
• Experience with fault diagnosis in network/server hardware.
• Knowledge of Layer 1/2 troubleshooting and OSI model.
• Experience with data center tech and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

• Reporting and working closely with the cSTS team lead during critical maintenance projects
• Collaborating with Network Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to assess issues and initiate swift workflows
• Diagnosing high-level hardware and network issues across global infrastructure
• Facilitating server repairs by working with ISP and Field Engineers
• Coordinating the return of Akamai equipment back to the warehouse or vendors
• Monitoring hardware failure patterns and proactively reporting trends to Hardware Engineering and vendors
