Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to lead a team of engineers, drive technical excellence, and collaborate withsales, product, and revenue teams. You will guide live customer discussions and design robust merchant integrations.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic guidance with practical coding and integration work, while promoting diversity and team growth.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business or technology.
• 4–6+ years in Sales Engineering or similar.
• 3–4 years of people management experience.
• Hands-on while leading technical customer conversations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers with clear expectations on technical proficiency, merchant engagement, and performance.
• Participate in deals, supporting live technical discovery, integration discussions, and solution presentations.
• Partner with merchant leaders when leadership is needed to win deals.
• Develop deep knowledge of Affirms products, APIs, and integration options to evaluate solutions and resolve blockers.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox or simulated environments and coach the team to do the same.
• Use AI tools in technical work and coach the team to apply them for prototypes, integrations, and testing.
