Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a remote-first Leader of Sales Engineering in the United States. You will mentor a team, participate in live technical conversations, and drive merchant integrations across sandbox environments.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business or technology.
• 4-6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• 3-4 years of people management experience.
• Hands-on while managing a team, including leading technical customer conversations.
• Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting API-based integrations, with proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Strong technical judgment; translate business requirements into integration recommendations and risks.
• Excellent communication, able to engage developers, stakeholders, and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, setting expectations for technical proficiency and performance.
• Participate in deals alongside your team, supporting live technical discovery and integration discussions.
• Partner with merchant leaders when leadership involvement is required.
• Develop deep knowledge of Affirms products, APIs, and integration options to evaluate solutions and resolve blockers.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox or simulated environments and coach the team to do the same.
• Use AI development tools in your technical work and coach the team to apply them to prototypes, integrations, and testing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design merchant solutions and win new business.
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback to improve processes.
• Create a respectful environment with feedback and growth opportunities.
