Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a senior Sales Engineering leader to mentor a growing team, drive technical excellence in merchant integrations, and participate directly in high-impact deals.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role
• 3-4 years of people management experience
• Hands-on experience leading technical customer conversations to advance deals
• Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting API-based integrations, with proficiency in at least one programming language

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, setting expectations for technical proficiency, merchant engagement, and performance
• Participate in deals alongside the team, supporting live technical discovery, integration discussions, and solution presentations
• Partner with merchant technical and business leaders when leadership involvement is needed
• Develop deep knowledge of Affirms products, APIs, and integration options to evaluate solutions and resolve blockers
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox environments and coach the team to do the same
• Use AI development tools in technical work and coach the team to apply them for prototyping and testing
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design merchant solutions and address gaps
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback and process improvements
• Create a respectful environment with feedback and growth opportunities
