Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Senior Sales Engineering leader to guide and grow a team of Sales Engineers, while staying hands-on with complex deals and technical discovery.

You'll partner with merchant leadership, design effective integrations, and coach the team to deliver scalable solutions in a remote-first environment across the U.S. This role requires strong technical judgment, excellent communication, and a track record of developing talent.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business or technology.
• 4-6+ years in Sales Engineering or similar, with 3-4 years of people management.
• Hands-on leadership in technical customer conversations and deals.
• Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting API-based integrations.
• Strong communication and ability to translate requirements into integration recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, setting expectations for proficiency, engagement, and performance.
• Participate in deals, supporting live technical discovery, integration discussions, and solution presentations.
• Partner with merchant technical and business leaders when leadership is needed.
• Develop deep knowledge of Affirm's products, APIs, and integration options to explain tradeoffs and resolve blockers.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox environments; coach the team to do the same.
• Apply AI development tools in technical work and coach the team to use them in prototypes and testing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design effective merchant solutions and win new business.
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback and process improvements.
• Create a respectful environment with feedback and growth opportunities.
