Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to serve as technical lead for protection and control systems. You will perform advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and manage complex field projects for substations and industrial C&I systems while leading teams and ensuring safe, reliable operation.

The role emphasizes customer interaction, mentorship, and technical leadership, with a strong focus on safety and quality in North America.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/Electronic technology, Military Experience, or 4-year Engineering Degree, preferred
  • 5+ Years of Relevant Industry Experience
  • NETA III/IV Certified, preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
  • Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
  • Perform installation, commissioning, testing of substation control circuits.
  • Execute advanced end-to-end and functional testing using relay test equipment.
  • Read and validate protection schematics and system configurations.
  • Develop project execution plans and manage large commissioning projects.
  • Produce reports including test results and relay settings verification.
  • Mentor Relay Technician I and II and interface with customers.
