Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to serve as the technical lead for protection and control systems, conducting advanced testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for substation and industrial facilities while guiding field teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role emphasizes customer interaction, mentoring mid-level technicians and engineers, and delivering comprehensive reports, relay settings validation, and commissioning documentation to meet client

Qualifications

Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Criminal background check required
Overtime and travel willingness
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays

Responsibilities

Lead safety briefings and enforce safety policies on job sites
Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and related systems
Install, commission, test, and perform functional testing of substation control circuits
Read and validate protection schematics and configurations
Calibrate electromechanical and microprocessor relays
Troubleshoot protection, control, and communication systems
Lead project planning, commissioning procedures, and outage sequences
Develop reports, relay settings verification, and commissioning documentation
Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers; interface with customers and stakeholders
