Electric Power Systems (EPS) in the United States seeks a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, and field execution for substation and industrial facilities.

You will analyze protection schemes, manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and communicate with utilities and clients to ensure safe, reliable operation. This role emphasizes safety leadership and thorough reporting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing and repairing protective relays in substations.
• Ability to troubleshoot protection, control, and transmission systems.
• Knowledge of relay test software and protection schemes.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings, enforce policies, and promote a strong safety culture on sites.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and perform testing on relay panels.
• Execute end-to-end and functional testing with relay test equipment and software.
• Read schematics and ensure proper relay calibration and performance.
• Develop project execution plans, procedures, and energization sequences.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and as-built documentation.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers; interface with customers.
