Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to serve as the technical lead for protection and control systems, overseeing testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting on substations and industrial facilities across North America.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, project execution, and customer interaction, with opportunities for team development and involvement in complex protection schemes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
• Capable of troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing of substation control circuits on relay panels.
• Execute advanced testing using relay test equipment and software.
• Read and validate protection & control schematics and configurations.
• Develop project execution plans and manage large-scale commissioning projects.
• Create reports including test results and relay settings verification.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers; interface with customers.
